Monika Żurowska as Monnci Art at the exhibition of works by participants of the Visual Arts Studio at the Mościce Art Centre presented her works created in the techniques of dry pastels, wet pastels, watercolour, and pencil and charcoal drawing. The exhibition “Visual Arts Studio – Exhibition of Participants’ Works” took place in Tarnów from 20 February to 19 March 2026, with the opening held on 20 February 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
Participating in this exhibition was an important artistic experience for me and an opportunity to present several areas of my creative work. The exhibited pieces reflected my interest in light, colour, nature, still life, and the classical study of form.

The exhibition of works by participants of the Visual Arts Studio at the Mościce Art Centre was a group event presenting a variety of techniques, subjects, and individual artistic explorations. The exhibition space brought together works created by people developing their artistic skills under the guidance of instructors.
As Monika Żurowska – Monnci Art, I had the pleasure of being one of the participants in this exhibition. I presented works that combine the delicacy of watercolour, the softness of pastels, and the classical discipline of pencil and charcoal drawing.

Visual Arts Studio – Exhibition of Participants’ Works in Tarnów was an opportunity to see many different ways of looking at the world through art. The exhibition presented works created in various techniques, from first conscious artistic attempts to more developed and thoughtful compositions.
For me, it was especially important to show works created through contact with classical artistic practice, observation of nature, and careful study of light. In my work, light is one of the most important elements — it builds the composition, reveals form, and gives the artwork its mood.
Works by Monnci Art: Dry Pastels, Wet Pastels, Watercolour, Pencil and Charcoal
During the exhibition, I presented works created in several techniques: dry pastels, wet pastels, watercolour, and pencil and charcoal drawing. Each of these techniques allows me to tell a different story about image, light, and emotion.
Pastels make it possible to build soft tonal transitions, rich colour, and a subtle atmosphere. Watercolour allows me to capture lightness, transparency, and the delicacy of a fleeting moment. Pencil and charcoal drawing, on the other hand, focuses on tonal value, contrast, structure, and the classical modelling of form.
Dry Pastels and Wet Pastels as Colour, Softness and Atmosphere
Among my works presented during the exhibition were compositions created in the techniques of dry and wet pastels. Pastels allow the image to be built through soft areas of colour, delicate tonal transitions, and a subtle mood.
In my pastel works, light and atmosphere were particularly important. Colour was not only decorative, it became a way of expressing emotion, space, and the character of the subject.
Watercolour at the Exhibition at the Mościce Art Centre
During the exhibition, I also presented a work created in the technique of watercolour. Watercolour is a delicate, transparent technique that requires sensitivity and precision. Water, pigment, and light create subtle transitions that cannot be fully controlled, which is why this technique requires patience, lightness, and trust in the process.
The watercolour shown at the exhibition reflected themes of nature, delicacy, and observation of the world. It is a technique that allows me to express the fleeting quality of a moment, the softness of colour, and the poetic character of the subject.
Pencil and Charcoal Drawing – Still Life at the Exhibition at the Mościce Art Centre
Among the presented works was also a pencil and charcoal drawing depicting a still life. These techniques make it possible to focus on tonal value, composition, contrast, and precise modelling of form.
Pencil and charcoal allow an image to be built without colour — through light, shadow, structure, and depth. Charcoal gives the work softness and stronger dark areas, while pencil makes it possible to refine details and subtle tonal transitions.
For me, this work was an exercise in attentiveness, observation, and a classical approach to drawing. Still life allows one to pause and study form, proportion, light, and the relationships between objects.
Watercolour and Pastels in the Work of Monika Żurowska as Monnci Art
The works I presented as Monika Żurowska – Monnci Art included different themes and moods. Among them were motifs inspired by nature, landscape, still life, and the subtle observation of colour and light.
Each of these works was a separate attempt to speak about the world through a different artistic medium. Pastels allowed me to bring out softness and atmosphere, watercolour — lightness and transparency, while pencil and charcoal drawing — the classical depth of light and shadow.
Mościce Art Centre as a Space for Encountering Art
The Mościce Art Centre in Tarnów is an important space connected with culture, artistic education, and the presentation of creative work. Participating in the exhibition of works by the Visual Arts Studio participants gave me the opportunity to show my work in a public space and encounter art in a broader context.
Every exhibition is an important moment for an artist. It is the moment when works leave the studio and begin to function in a new place — alongside other artworks, in dialogue with space, light, and the viewer.
Monnci Art’s Participation in the Exhibition at the Mościce Art Centre – Summary
My participation in the event “Visual Arts Studio – Exhibition of Participants’ Works” at the Mościce Art Centre was a valuable artistic experience. As Monika Żurowska – Monnci Art, I presented works created in the techniques of dry pastels, wet pastels, watercolour, and pencil and charcoal drawing.
It was an opportunity to show the diversity of my artistic practice, my interest in light and colour, and my personal view of nature, landscape, and still life. I am glad that I could be one of the participants in this exhibition and present my works in the space of the Mościce Art Centre in Tarnów.
